A TEENAGER injured in a suspected stab incident in Darlington on Wednesday is expected to make a full recovery, police have said.
But officers want to speak to a middle-aged man who they believe is involved.
The injured teen, a 16-year-old, was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital for treatment following the incident in an alley between Yarm Road and King William Street at about 3.30pm on Wednesday afternoon.
However there was a heavy police presence at Darlington's Bank Top Station at about 4pm, where the injured person received initial treatment there before being taken to hospital by ambulance.
Police said he had suffered a small puncture wound to the abdomen in the incident.
A spokeswoman said they wanted to speak to a man who they believe is involved.
He is described as white, aged between 40 and 50 and wearing a green jacket.
The Great North Air Ambulance also attended the incident yesterday, with medics landing nearby to treat the victim for his injuries.
- Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and to speak to Darlington CID.
