WITH four stages of music heading to Hardwick Live this summer, organisers have announced even more acts to look out for and when to see them. The festival returns to the grounds of Hardwick Hall Hotel, Sedgefield, from August 17 to 18, with headline performances from Manic Street Preachers and James on the main stage over the weekend.
And festival-goers can also enjoy a whole host of acts taking to the Discovery Stage at the event, with the release of the full line-up and which acts will be playing on which days.
SATURDAY
Fans can enjoy Irish country singer Catherine McGrath, who released her debut album Talk of This Town last summer, along with alternative rock band The Joy Formidable, Sports Team, fresh from touring the US, and indie singer-songwriter Zuzu.
Also performing is pop singer Rothwell, who has supported the likes of Justin Bieber and Boyzone, four-piece alt-rock group Bloxx, pop and folk singer-songwriter Mano McLaughlin, and sets from Baltic and Jarpsy.
The following day, actor and broadcaster Craig Charles takes to the Discovery Stage to entertain fans with funk and soul classics, as well as comedy-folk band The Lancashire Hotpots, Hyde Park Brass – who recently released their new EP, Powerhouse – and indie-pop trio, Only the Poets.
And there will also be sets from Irish multi-instrumentalist ROE, Nottingham rock and roll group Reflekter, five-piece indie rock band The Voluntears, Rivet City and Saint Agnes.
John Adamson, who owns Hardwick Hall Hotel, believes there is a real variety playing at this year’s event.
“We always look to cover a range of genres with the artists we book for the festival and this year’s line-up is shaping up to be one of our most diverse yet,” said John.
“With four stages of music and the new dance arena in the Coachhouse Courtyard, we have something for all music tastes.
“It’s shaping up to be a really exciting year for the event and I can’t wait to see the acts take to the various stages over the weekend.”
Headlining the main stage on Saturday is Manic Street Preachers, with performances from The Zutons, Stiff Little Fingers, Sister Sledge featuring Kathy Sledge, The Sherlocks, The Lake Poets, James Walsh and Feva.
SUNDAY
James take top billing, with sets from Lisa Stansfield, Ziggy Marley, Billy Bragg, A Certain Ratio, Tim Burgess, Cattle & Cane and Just So.
Elite club brands Glitterbox and Retro will take over the Coachhouse Courtyard over the two days, with top DJs including Joey Negro, Horse Meat Disco, Jeremy Healy and Brandon Block.
And this year the festival will welcome a BBC Tees Introducing Stage for the first time, showcasing music from ten of the region’s rising stars, along with a range of local DJs taking to the stage at The Dome.
Tickets for this year’s Hardwick Live Festival are currently on sale at £55 for one day or £99 for both days. Concessions are available for children and 13-17-year-olds.
