A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a weapon, in the early hours of the morning.
A 25-year-old man was arrested on Thursday, June 20 after close-circuit television cameras, monitored by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, detected a man 'acting suspiciously' in the high street.
The man was then arrested at around 3.05am, under suspicion of being in the possession of a knife in the vicinity of Dovecot Street near the town centre.
Police said the knife was also recovered from the scene, and that the 25-year-old man remains in custody.
Police said enquiries into the incident are still ongoing.
