A DOG had be rescued by firefighters after it fell down a rocky bankside at a nature reserve.
Two-year-old wire haired pointer Maggie was being walked in Castle Eden Dene, near Peterlee, this afternoon when she fell over the edge of some rocks.
A crew from Peterlee fire station was deployed and rescues used specialist equipment to work at height to rescue the lucky puppy from a 10m high ledge.
A County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue spokesperson said although 'things got a bit hairy' for the pet and her owner there was a 'waggy ending'.
"Miraculously Maggie escaped completely uninjured and was reunited with her relieved owner," they added.
