EX-EVESHAM United boss Paul Collicutt insists he will not be lost to football and is weighing up a "few offers" to return to the game.

The 60-year-old was sacked by the Robins at the end of April after more than five years at the helm and on the back of a seventh-placed finish in Southern League Division One South.

At the time he called the decision, unanimously made by the nine committee members present despite chairman Jim Cockerton's opinion that he should be allowed to stay on, "short sighted".

But now the dust has settled, Collicutt wants to place on record his gratitude for the help and good times he had at Evesham and revealed he had no intention of this being his final stint in the dugout.

"I have a few offers on the table and am taking a bit of time out at the minute to decide how I move on," said Collicutt.

"I do still feel I have a lot to offer the game but we will see, I have to sit back and take everything into consideration."

Collicutt led United to second, sixth, fifth, fourth and seventh at step four with a trio of play-off heartbreaks, a run to the final qualifying round of the FA Cup and Worcestershire Senior Cup glory along the way and said the memories would never have been made without his support cast.

"I want to thank the club for the five years I was there and would like to think we had more good times than bad," he said.

"This is a thank you to the club for giving me the chance in the first place and I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Evesham United.

"The board, and more to the point the supporters, enabled me to have this spell so my gratitude goes out to them and the players that represented the club – not just the present ones but everyone throughout my time there.

"They helped the club to progress from where it was to where it is now. There were a couple of good cup runs in there, we won the Worcestershire Senior Cup and as everyone knows reaching the play-offs three seasons out of five. Unfortunately we were not able to go that final yard.

"I also want to thank my backroom staff throughout my time as well, the likes of Richard Smith, Mark Boyland, Gerry Oldham, Mark Lockwood, Pete Sollis, Ally Major and Stuart Martyn plus anyone else I've missed.

"I made friends as well and for that I will be eternally grateful but with the way football is, things move on and I wish the club the success I believe it is more than capable of."
