A GANG of teenagers has been spoken to by police after pelting the home of a Green Party supporter with stones in Darlington.

Aiden Foster, 16, was at home on North Road in Darlington when the group of youngsters, aged about 13, started knocking repeatedly on the door and throwing stones at the house.

His mother, Anna-Maria Thain, stood as a Green Party council candidate in the recent local elections and had a poster for the party outside the house.

She was out at the time.

Aiden said: “I opened the door three times to be declared a green party k****** and green party c*** and then I stopped opening the door.

“This lead them to knocking persistently and then they chose to attack the windows with stones and throw around items from the garden.

“They then fled as the police came, after they had been blocking our house entrance with bikes.”

A spokesman for Durham Constabulary confirmed that police had dealt with an incident of anti social behaviour on North Road.

He said three or four 13-year-olds on bikes had been knocking on the door repeatedly and shouting abuse.

Police in Darlington were called out to the property.

Two of the youngsters were stopped at the scene and were given words of advice by the police.
