IT'S a double edged sword success as farmer Peter Fall the organiser of the hugely popular Barn That Rocks concert is finding out. The concert on June 1 at his Grazing Nook Farm between Bedale and Leyburn is sold out. All 800 tickets have gone and because of strict licensing and insurance there can be no more.

So there is now a waiting list of people desperate for any returns that may come in.

Over the past six years Peter and his family and supporters have raised over £62,000 for charity from the events, £17,000 last year alone. Over the past few years it's been presented to the Friends of the Friarage, a cause dear to the Fall family because so many friends and relatives have received care at the Northallerton hospital.

This year there's been a special drive by the Friends and Peter with a major raffle of a new Peugeot 208 car which will be drawn on the night by Yorkshire vet Peter Wright.

For Peter Fall the early sell out is bittersweet. "It's marvellous that we have sold so many tickets, but I know there are people who would love to come who we just can't fit in. So it is a regret but sadly there really is nothing that we can do. However anyone who can't use their tickets do return them and we can make sure they go to a good home.

"I am so grateful that people have been so supportive, it is such an important good cause for this area. A lot of hard work has gone into the concert by many people and I am sure we will have another great night."

While people may have to miss out on the concert, raffle tickets are still on sale at the Friarage and James Cook Hospitals and through the Barn That Rocks facebook.
