YOUNG bug explorers will get the chance to take part in a discovery trail at a National Trust property throughout half term.

Ormesby Hall is holding a special bug event from this Bank Holiday Monday until Thursday.

Youngsters can take part in a special bug trail to found all about bugs from ladybirds to woodlice.

Inside the house they can become bug detectives as they search for the pesky pets and the damaged furniture.

It's up to families to discover which bug has done the crime.

Leanne Allan, visitor experience manager at Ormesby, said: "We’re improving nature habitats at Ormesby Hall.

"We’ve installed bug habitats and a bird hide to help nature flourish in the garden and give visitors the chance to get closer to the bugs, birds and bees.

"The garden is really coming into bloom now spring’s in full swing, so it’s a great time to come and visit."

On Bank Holiday Monday a wildlife explorer day will be held at the hall, with Kirkleatham Owl Centre on site as well as Cleveland Hedgehog Preservation Society and the RSPB. There will be shelter building, nature walks, bug home building, rope making and fire skills.
