A POPULAR TV vet is set to bring out his fourth book.
Julian Norton, also known as The Yorkshire Vet, has published his anecdotal novel On Call with a Yorkshire Vet this month.
The book will follow his previous memoir, Diary of a Yorkshire Vet, and features more anecdotes from his veterinary work in North Yorkshire.
Through the snows of the ‘Beast from the East’, he described treating a sheep in Nun Monkton and a pony in Dallowgill.
He also talks about treating a meerkat with a broken tail from Great Ouseburn, a lame horse next to Almscliffe Crag, a Wagyu in Topcliffe and a Clydesdale horse in York.
Mr Norton has been working in mixed practice in rural North Yorkshire for twenty-one years. During this time, he has seen many varied cases, unusual animals great and small and has met and become friends with a huge mixture of fascinating farmers and pet owners.
In 2015, Mr Norton became involved with the popular TV series The Yorkshire Vet, on Channel 5, and contributes a weekly column to The Country Week section of The Yorkshire Post, documenting his weekly veterinary practices.
On Call with a Yorkshire Vet has been published by Great Northern Books and is available in hardback.
