IT is back to Super League action tonight when Salford Red Devils come to town seeking their first away win against St Helens for more than 39 years.

Saints have a four-point lead at the summit and will be keen to preserve that against a side with a reputation for lifting themselves against the big teams.

Ian Watson's men blew Catalans away in Perpignan and they also won at Warrington on Easter Monday.

Saints have made a couple of changes to the squad with skipper James Roby dropping out. He will again be replaced at nine by able understudy Aaron Smith.

Saints won the last meeting between the sides 26-4 at the AJ Bell in February.

Salford last won at St Helens on 12 January, 1980 (18-17).

Saints have won 34 consecutive home meetings between the sides since then.

That does include the miraculous escape in 2017 when Saints staged an unlikely comeback and then Matty Smith hoofed over a drop goal after the hooter to snatch the win.
