A MUSEUM is preparing to showcase Lego in a new Summer exhibition.
The Bowes Museum is putting its finishing touches to its Lego: Building the Bowes Museum, which opens on Saturday, May 25.
Renowned artist and Brick This creator Steve Mayes will turn the Barnard Castle museum into a playground for the imagination using Lego.
Visitors will be able to see the Lego models alongside some of the most loved objects collected by the museum founders John and Joséphine Bowes – including the spectacular silver swan.
There will be a creation station where artists can unleash their creativity.
Jane Whittaker, the museum's head of collections, said: “This promises to be one of the most creative exhibitions we’ve ever held as people will be able to get truly hands on and connect with our collections in a brand new way."
