POLICE have confirmed the body of a man was found in Newton Aycliffe on Monday evening.
Officers attended the sudden death of a 39-year-old man on Crawford Road, Newton Aycliffe, shortly after 9pm, on May 13.
The death is being treated as non-suspicious.
A Durham Constabulary spokesperson said: “We can confirm police attended the sudden death of a 39-year-old man on Crawford Road, Newton Aycliffe, shortly after 9pm on Monday, May 13.
“The death is being treated as non-suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.”
Police have not confirmed the identity of the male but he has been named locally and on social media.
Friends and relatives have paid tribute to him on social media.
Posting on Facebook, Christina Pearson said: “You’re gonna be missed so much my friend.”
Eddie Horn added: "You were such a lovely lad. Miss ya mate.”
