FESTIVAL goers will enjoy a double helping at this year’s Woo Fest – the annual charity gathering that raises funds for St Richard's Hospice, Worcester.
For the first time in its five-year history, the event held at The Drum and Monkey pub, Upton-upon-Severn, will take place across two days on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 July.
The festival, set up by Luke and Ria Simons in memory of their father John, raised more than £12,000 from last year’s event alone .
All proceeds go to St Richard’s with an added bonus of £10 per ticket sold before the end of May courtesy of a pledge from Smiths News.
Arcadia Roots and Stone Mountain Sinners kick things off on the Friday with a bouncy castle and slide, jungle jiggle, forest school, crafts and face painting to entertain children.
Festival organiser Luke Simons said: “Woo Fest has grown year on year and we have a loyal fan-base as well as new festival-goers joining us.
“This year’s line-up is incredible and every single penny of the ticket price goes to St Richard’s Hospice, thanks to all our supporters and sponsors. It’s going to be a great weekend for all the family.”
Hospice fundraiser Claire James said: “We are so excited for this year’s Woo Fest which looks set to be bigger and better than ever.
“The Woo Fest team do such an incredible job in supporting St Richard’s and we are so grateful for their dedication and hard work. Bring on the summer!”
