FLORAL tributes have been laid in the car park where a teenage girl was found unconscious and later died after taking suspected ecstasy.

Police were were called to a report that a 15-year-old girl had collapsed in Applegarth car park in Northallerton at about 9.30pm on Saturday.

Police and ambulance crews attended the scene and the girl was taken to The James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough, where she later died.

Last night, floral tributes from friends and family had been placed at the scene of the tragedy as some teenagers gathered in the car park.

One of the tributes read: “Sleep tight, love always, Codie and Ebony. A star is shining brightly, it is spelling out your name. You were such a special girl in our hearts, you will remain.”

Another message read: "RIP Leah, we will all love and miss you so much, Imogen."

North Yorkshire Police enquiries have found that the girl is believed to have taken MDMA and enquiries are ongoing to determine if the drug has led to the girl’s death.
