TWO people have been seriously injured after the car they were travelling hit a tree.
Barnard Castle Police are now appealing for information following the incident on Sunday, May 5.
The car collided with a tree at about 3.30am on the B6279 between Egglestone and Kinninvie, in Teesdale.
The car - a red Citroen C1 - is understood to have been in Barnard Castle to collect passengers before travelling up to Eggleston.
It then headed towards Kinninvie on the B6279 when it left the road and collided with the tree.
A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: "Four people were in the car at the time of the collision, with two of them suffering serious injuries."
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any dashcam footage which could help the investigation has been asked to call Durham Constabulary’s Collision Unit on 0191-3752159 quoting incident number 71 of May 5.
