FOUR children were among those hurt in a car crash in Eggleston, in Teesdale, last week.

Three girls, aged 14, four and three and a boy aged 13 were hurt after the car they were in crashed into a wall on the B6278 near to High Shipley just after 8.50am on Friday.

It is believed the driver of the Hyundai Santa Fe, a 36-year-old woman, lost control of the vehicle and hit a wall.

Officers together with colleagues from County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service and the North East Ambulance Service attended the scene.

All five occupants of the car were taken to the James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, with injuries not described as life-threatening.

Four have now been discharged and one remains with a broken leg.
