A MAN was found unconscious in Stanhope after suffering head injuries. 

The 56-year-old was found on Cross Street at about 8am on Monday, April 22.

The man was seen leaving the Pack Horse Inn at about 2.30am on Monday morning in the direction of Stanhope Town Hall where he was sighted again at about 4.25am.

Police are appealing for information following the incident.

He is described as white, around 5ft 10, of medium build with grey hair, wearing blue jeans, a padded burgundy jacket and a white polo top.

Detective Constable Graeme Hopkirk, from Bishop Auckland CID said: “We are working to establish how this man sustained his injuries.

"We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the man in between the hours of 2.30am and 8am”.
