POLICE officers are thanking members of the public who stopped to help them after finding a car on its roof over the bank holiday weekend.
Response officers were called to reports of one vehicle overturned in Darlington at around 11pm on Sunday night.
The vehicle was recovered at the Burtree Lane junction with Whessoe Road and the driver of the overturned vehicle was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving.
The driver has since been charged following the incident and bailed pending a court date.
A Darlington Police officer said: “We would like to thank the members of the public who stopped to help the team.
“Thankfully, nobody was seriously hurt throughout this incident.”
