A WOMAN had her bag snatched in broad daylight as she walked through Middlesbrough.
The 38-year-old woman was robbed on Longford Street on Wednesday, April 3 between 4.45pm and 5.15pm when she was approached by two men who asked if she had a light.
The men then grabbed her bags and made off towards Ayresome Street.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "Following the robbery, a male assisted the victim by attempting to chase the two male suspects. Officers are appealing for this man to come forward as he may be able to assist with enquiries.
"The two men are described as being of Eastern European appearance with local accents and they were wearing black tracksuits. One was wearing a black cap and the other was wearing a black scarf with skulls on it."
Anyone with information regarding the incident, or anyone with CCTV footage is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 or Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org
