A MOTORCYCLIST has been taken to hospital after a crash.
The incident happened around 7.30am this morning, on the A6072 between Heighington and Shildon.
The man was taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough for treatment.
The road was closed while an investigation was carried out by police.
Traffic was diverted to the A68.
The road has now been cleared and re-opened.
