A MAN was spotted trying to break into vehicles outside houses in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police were called after the suspect was seen trying vehicles in and around the Bluebell Drive estate, in Middlestone Moor, Spennymoor, at around 5am.

Officers are now appealing for information about the potential vehicle crime and the culprit.
