INCIDENT: Emergency services attended the scene of an accident on the A68 involving a car and motorbike
A MOTORCYCLIST has died following a crash last night.
The collision happened at about 3.30pm on the A68 at Allensford Bank, Consett.
The 30-year-old man from Consett was riding an off road KTM SX bike which collided with a Nissan Qashqai.
Despite the efforts of the emergency services the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road remained closed for several hours.
Two men are currently assisting police with enquiries.
Anyone with information in relation to the crash or with dashcam footage is asked to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference number 236 of April.
