POLICE are trying to trace a man in connection with the theft of a cash bag from a bus.
Police say the cash bag was taken from Go North East's number four bus, which had broken down in Bournmoor on Tuesday, March 19.
They say they believe the theft from the driver's cab happened while passengers were taken off the bus to get on a replacement service.
The man, who is described as being white and in his 30s, got on the bus in Fencehouses and got off the bus in Penshaw.
He was wearing a blue jacket, dark coloured work trousers and a dark tartan deer-stalker style hat.
Before getting off the bus, he changed into a high vis work jacket and removed his hat, revealing short, dark hair.
Anyone who thinks they know the man, or has information which may help police is asked to contact PC Dan Powell at Chester-le-Street Police by calling 101 and quoting reference DHM-19032019-0183.
