A MAN has been taken to hospital with a punctured lung after he was assaulted alongside his dog at the weekend.
Cleveland Police are appealing for information after a 36-year-old man and his dog were assaulted on Upper Green Lane in Thornaby, near Stockton
The incident occurred yesterday on Sunday evening at 9:30pm when two men walked over and assaulted the dog and the victim with an unknown object.
As a result of the attack, the victim suffered a punctured lung and currently remains in hospital. The dog was uninjured.
The victim’s phone was also stolen during the attack.
