THE family of a woman who police believe has been murdered are marking the first birthday since she disappeared.

Today (April 8) is missing Naheed Khan’s 44th birthday and her family have released a number of photographs of her from over the years.

The Northern Echo:

Naheed has been missing since May 2018 with the last confirmed sighting being in central Middlesbrough.

Gazala Khan, Naheed’s mum, said: “One of the last times I had contact with Naheed was around the time of her birthday last year.

“It is heart breaking that it has been nearly a year since I last saw my daughter and we still have no idea what has happened to her or where she is.

“Naheed should be celebrating her birthday with her family today but she isn’t and someone out there knows what has happened to her. All we want to do is lay her to rest, but instead we are constantly suffering pain and loss without her here.”

Independent charity, Crimestoppers is now offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information they receive that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the suspected murder of Naheed Khan.

Naheed has links in Stockton, Middlesbrough and Thornaby. She is described as being of Asian appearance, of slim build and around 5ft 6” tall, with long, dark hair.

Officers arrested a 39-year-old man in February in connection with the disappearance of Naheed. He was later released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Anyone with information, no matter how insignificant they think it is, should contact Cleveland Police on 101 and say that they have information to help in the Naheed Khan case.
