A PEDESTRIAN has been left with serious injuries after a hit-and-run incident at the weekend.
The victim, a man in his 60s, was knocked down by a car on Front Street, Leadgate, near Consett, just before 4.10pm on Saturday, March 30.
He was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle suffering from potentially life-threatening head injuries.
The vehicle involved in the collision, a silver-coloured Suburu Forester, failed to stop at the scene.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has Dashcam footage. Anyone who has any further information is asked to call Durham Constabulary on 101 quoting incident number DHM-30032019-0314.
