POLICE are looking for two vehicles which were involved in a cash machine raid on Saturday.

A standalone cash machine was taken from inside the Asda Store on Blackett Road in Darlington at around 2.40am.

Criminals forced their way into the store, before they used a vehicle to remove the cash machine from the premises.

A silver Ford Transit van and a red SEAT Ibiza were reportedly seen leaving the scene, before they turned right onto Haughton Road at around 2.48am.

Durham Police said the two vehicles were also seen in the area several hours before the raid took place.

Detective constable at Durham Police, Ali Blackett, said: "Both vehicles appear to have been in the area several hours before the theft took place.

“We would appeal for anyone who saw a red Seat Ibiza in the Asda car park or a silver Ford Transit in Blackett Road at approximately 11pm on Friday to get in touch with us urgently.

“Alternatively, we would still like to hear from anyone who was in the area at around 2.40am on Saturday when the theft took place”.

Anyone with information is advised to contact Durham Constabulary on 101 and quote incident number 45.
