Surrender bins will be placed at the main police stations in Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool and Redcar and Cleveland.
Officers will also visit local schools to raise awareness of the dangers of knives and sharp objects. The aim is to educate young people and deter them from engaging in knife crime and violence.
Knives will be surrendered at the force's main police stations in Stockton, Hartlepool, Kirkleatham or Middlesbrough between 8am and 8pm next week.
