A LOCAL home store is getting into gear with the arrival of a DeLorean sports car to rev up its birthday celebrations.

On Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17, the DeLorean will be parked in the store so don’t miss out on a Back-to-the-Future photo opportunity.

Northallerton-based Barkers Home is approaching its 25th anniversary and the fun will start on Saturday, March 16 with lots of treats and special offers for customers.

A live band will be playing in store on Saturday and customers will be able to enjoy a glass of Prosecco to toast the event.

To help celebrate, and to thank customers for their loyalty over the 25 years, there will be plenty of offers and promotions across the store including up to 30 per cent off big brand names on upholstery, living and dining, beds and bedroom furniture. There are big savings to be made in the outdoor living area, cook-shop, linens, travel, soft furnishings, flooring and lighting department.

The silver jubilee event will then carry on all week until Sunday, March 24, with customers having the chance to win a £500 Barkers’ gift card in a FREE prize draw.

Ian Barker, Director of Barkers Home says: “We are all looking forward to these celebrations which promise to be a lot of fun and we’re hoping that customers that have shopped with us before, plus lots of new customers, will come along and join in. We’ve also redesigned our logo to support our silver jubilee, the store is going to look wonderful and there will be lots for customers to enjoy.”

The Home Store, which is one of the largest in the north of England, was purpose-built on the edge of Northallerton in 1994. It was originally called Barkers Furniture Store, and after several refurbishments and a massive extension, the store changed its name in 2016 and became Barkers Home. The extended floor space helped to offer even more in choice of traditional and contemporary furniture, plus an impressively increased linens range and new cook-shop department.

Tree View Café within Barkers Home serves light refreshments and lunches, and there is ample free car parking on-site.

Information about offers can be found in the events page on the Barkers Home website.
