The woman behind the artwork

The artist, whose work has also been exhibited across the country, managed to achieve shortlistings for two images in the 'International Garden Photographer of the Year' award.

Ms Cowdy said: "It's photography, but not as we know it – my technique, which I calls Photo Artistry, combines painting with photography."

Ms Cowdy said she had worked as a professional in the industry for several years before adapting the technique.

She added: "I was a former art teacher at Norton College – but only recently developed my new technique."

The exhibition runs until March 29.
