A SCHOOL has secured a better Ofsted rating under fresh leadership.
Southwold County Primary School in Bicester has been rated 'good' following a visit in January, a report released this week has confirmed.
It was the school's first inspection since converting to an academy in 2016, under the White Horse Federation trust.
Previously it had been rated 'requires improvement,' after an Ofsted visit in 2014.
The new report of the 296-pupil school states: "Leaders and staff are a cohesive team, united behind the vision of ‘be all you can be
and together we will shine.'
"Pupils understand about being unique and are encouraged to celebrate people’s differences.
"The trust and local governors are united in their ambition for the school to build upon the improvements that have been made."
The report noted that the school had 'recently seen a decline in [pupil] numbers' and added that a new headteacher was appointed in September 'following a period of turbulence.'
