A MAN is set to be sentenced after pleading guilty to making thousands of pictures of indecent photographs of children.

Philip Ford, from Houghton-le-Spring, in Tyne and Wear, admitted to three charges of making indecent photographs of children and one charge of possession of a prohibited image of a child.

The 54-year-old, of Violet Terrace, made a total of 8,869 indecent photos, including 140 category A images.

He pleaded guilty to the charges when he appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The images were found on his computer when it was seized on July 24, 2018.

District judge Tim Capstick said Ford would be sentenced at Durham Crown Court on March 28.

Ford was granted unconditional bail.
