A ROBBER snatched a bag from a 17-year-old girl outside a library.
Police are trying to trace a man in connection with the robbery, outside the Central Library, in Middlesbrough town centre.
The man approached the teenager and initially tried to snatch her bag, knocking her to the ground, at about 11.50pm on Saturday, February 2.
Once she was on the ground the thief then grabbed the bag and pulled it from her, snapping the bag strap in the process. It contained her mobile phone and cash.
He made off in the direction of Emily Street, heading towards Borough Road.
The suspect is described as a white male, of medium build, around six feet tall, with the lower half of his face covered.
