TWO television personalities who have been entertaining people of all ages for more than a decade will help to ensure a County Durham food festival is fun for all of the family.

TV presenters and foodies Angellica Bell and Stefan Gates are the latest celebrity guests to be revealed ahead of Bishop Auckland Food Festival’s return on April 13 and 14.

The pair will join BBC MasterChef co-presenter Gregg Wallace at the Durham County Council event, which attracts thousands of people to the market town each year.

As the 2017 winner of BBC Celebrity MasterChef and a mother of two young children, Angellica knows all about cooking tasty and nutritious meals the whole family will enjoy.

The One Show regular and co-presenter of The Martin Lewis Money Show on ITV is passionate about inspiring families to cook together and passing culinary skills down through the generations.

Angellica will be preparing dishes from her children’s recipe book, Fantastic Eats! & how to cook them, at 12.30pm and 3pm on the Saturday. Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for children. There are also a limited number of VIP passes for the 12.30pm session, priced at £10 for adults and £6 for children, which include demonstration tickets and a meet and greet opportunity.

She said: “I have a soft spot for the North-East of England having been lucky enough to work in the region throughout my career and also taken part in the Great North Run many times. The people are always so warm and friendly and I can’t wait to share some of my family recipes from my new cookbook to help children get excited about cooking.”

Known for his love of extraordinary culinary adventures, Stefan has written and presented several food science television programmes, making him the perfect choice to lead the festival’s outreach programme. In early April, he will take hundreds of schoolchildren on a journey through the human digestive system, complete with fascinating facts and explosive experiments.

Stefan, who has written six books including Fartology: The Extraordinary Science Behind the Humble Fart, is sure to be a big hit with younger audiences but grown-ups can join in the fun too.

The father-of-two will deliver similar sessions for people of all ages at the festival at 11am and 1pm on the Saturday and Sunday. Tickets cost £3.

This year there will be more than 150 traders selling local produce and delicious dishes from all over the world at the event.

There will also be live music, workshops, children’s entertainment and cookery demonstrations.

The free festival is part of #Durham19, a campaign showcasing the many sporting and cultural events taking part in the county this year.
