A MAN who was struck by a bus while using a mobility scooter has died.
George ‘Geordie’ Bilclough, 53, of Elswick, was involved in a collision on Blackett Street, Newcastle, shortly after 4pm on Tuesday.
He was taken to hospital with serious injuries but passed away on Thursday night.
His family have released a statement paying tribute to the much-loved man.
They said: “He fought a good fight but lost in the end. He will forever be missed and his love will never be lost. We love you forever and always.”
The family have asked that their privacy is respected as they come to terms with their loss.
An investigation was launched following the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
The road was closed at the junction of Percy Street for nearly two hours as emergency services responded and police carried out enquiries.
