A FIRE that destroyed a house in Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire, is believed to have been caused by a heater.
The fire broke out early on Monday morning, February 11, at a property on Byng Road.
The occupants, a woman and two children, escaped unharmed as crews from four stations battled the flames.
An investigation was carried out and a spokeswoman from North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "The fire is believed to have been caused by a heater in a pet cage, and therefore accidental."
An online campaign set up to raise funds for the affected family has passed £1,000.
