A QUANTITY of suspected illegal cigarettes have been seized following a raid on a business premises.
Officers from Stockton Neighbourhood Police Team executed a warrant at the premises on Bowesfield Lane, Stockton, assisting officers from Stockton Borough Council Trading Standards and HM Revenue and Customs.

A force spokesman said: "A quantity of illicit cigarettes and rolling tobacco were recovered and seized and further enquiries will be conducted with the proprietors of the shop by Stockton Borough Council.
"Although this may be considered by some as a 'victimless crime' the sale of illicit tobacco products can fund organised crime."
