A YOUNG boy suffered a broken wrist and head injuries after falling through a ceiling inside a supermarket.
Emergency services were called to Tesco in Annfield Plain, near Stanley, at 1pm on Tuesday after the incident.

It is understood the boy, 12, was with friends and had accessed the roof space from inside the store.
A spokesman for North East Ambulance Service said: “A young person had fallen about 15 feet.
“The patient has suffered head and wrist injuries and was treated at the scene and then taken to the University Hospital of North Durham.”
Police were called and have confirmed the matter is now under investigation.
A spokeswoman for Durham Constabulary said: “An investigation is underway after officers were called to a report of criminal damage at Tesco, in Annfield Plain, at about 1pm, on Tuesday.”
A spokesman for Tesco said: “There was an incident of trespassing at our Annfield Plain Superstore on Tuesday.”
