A WOMAN was taken to hospital following a serious crash in Darlington town centre.
The woman was freed from a car that crashed on the corner of Duke Street and Larchfield Street on Friday.
Firefighters from two County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service fire engines cut away the roof of the car to free one casualty.
One ambulance was also on scene, as well as three police vehicles and a recovery truck.
Two cars were involved in the crash, with one sustaining damage to its front end while the other had its roof removed.

Duke Street was later reopened to all traffic.
A spokesperson for Durham Police said: "Officers were called to a two-vehicle collision just after 12.20pm today.
"The incident occurred at the junction from Larchfield Street leading onto Duke Street and involved a Peugoet 206 and a Renault Scenic.
"A woman is being taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital with minor injuries whilst emergency services remain on scene."
