QUEEN Elizabeth School at Kirkby Lonsdale is planning a new security fence and school entrance.

Plans lodged with South Lakeland District Council feature a 1.2m high, powder-coated green fence around the school perimeter to control access to the site during school hours.

As part of the changes, the main entrance to QES would be relocated to the west side of the school's Halsteads building.

Gates would be open before and after school to let students in and out; and locked during school hours so any visitors would have to enter school through the newly created entrance.
