THE body of a man recovered by police has been identified.

Northumbria Police confirmed yesterday that a body recovered in North Tyneside is that of a missing Wallsend man.

At around 11.10am on Sunday, January 13, police received a report of a body in the water at Cobalt Business Park.

Emergency services attended and the body of a man was recovered from the water.

A police spokesperson said: "Enquiries are now ongoing and the body can now be confirmed as that of missing 32-year-old Paul Nash.

"There is not believed to be any third party involvement and specialist officers are supporting his family at this difficult time.

"A report is now being prepared for the coroner."

Northumbria Police confirmed the news to the public on its Facebook page at about 4.30pm yesterday.

It followed a post on Sunday confirming a body had been found and the man had been declared deceased at the scene and his death was not being treated as suspicious.
