POLICE have confirmed that a man has died after an industrial accident at a haulage firm.

The 30-year-old was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough in a critical condition following the incident at the Ward Bros transport and distribution depot in South Bank, Teesside, last Tuesday.

An investigation has been launched by Cleveland Police and the Health and Safety Executive into the circumstances behind the accident.

The man has not been named publicly.

A spokesman for Cleveland Police said: “We can confirm that a 30-year-old man has sadly died following an industrial accident on Dormor Way in South Bank on January 8.

"A joint investigation with the Health and Safety Executive is ongoing and our thoughts are with the man’s family, friends and colleagues.”
