A MAN has been told he is facing prison after he admitted a string of sexual offences concerning children.

Brian Jackson, 50, pleaded guilty to a total of eight offences when he appeared at Teesside Crown Court.

He admitted two charges of making indecent photographs of children – 147 images – and three counts of distributing them to an unknown person.

All of the offences which concerned images were committed between April 2011 and May 2018.

He also pleaded guilty to two counts of attempting to cause an underage girl to engage in sexual activity and one of attempting to cause her to watch a sexual act in April to May last year.

Jackson, formerly of Ennis Square, Dormanstown, Redcar but now living in Wiltshire, appeared in court unrepresented by a lawyer.

Judge Peter Armstrong told him: "You'd be well advised to be represented with charges like this.

"I'm minded to adjourn your case longer than the usual term to see if you can get representation.

"You're facing a custodial term for these offences. Do you understand that?

"I'll order a pre-sentence report. I'll adjourn your case for six weeks so that you can make appropriate inquiries about being represented.

"I think you need to be represented if you can, otherwise you're going to be on your own."

Jackson was bailed until sentencing on February 13.
