AN appeal for information has been made following an attempt to steal from a cash machine at a town centre store petrol station early today.
The incident, which proved unsuccessful, is said to have taken place at the Asda filling station, on Yoden Way/Surtees Road, Peterlee, sometime between 2.30am and 4.30am.
Appealing from information about the incident, Detective Constable John Forster, of Peterlee CID, said: “Please don’t dismiss anything unusual that you might have seen in the area.
“If you saw people of vehicles around at the stated times, please get in touch with us.
“If you have information, please ring, quoting incident number 52 of January 5.”
