OFFICERS are appealing for help to trace a man who has gone missing from his home in Darlington.

David Smith was reported missing by neighbours in Smithfield Road on November 15 as they were concerned they had not seen him for around three weeks.

It is thought the 62-year-old had potentially left Darlington to look for employment in the North West, in the Bolton area in particular.

He is described as being white, heavy build, with short, grey hair and wears glasses.

Inspector Simon Cowan, from Darlington Police, said: “We have not seen or heard from David for a number of weeks now.

“This is very out of character for David, who is in poor health, and his friends, neighbours and police are extremely concerned for his welfare.

“If David is reading this now, we would urge him to contact us on 101. Likewise, if anyone has spotted David or knows of his whereabouts, please get in touch with us immediately.”
