SCHOOLCHILDREN, parents and grandparents got into the Christmas spirit this week with some special festive activities.
That's as nursery children at St Helen Auckland Primary School came together to make their own Christmas cards and tree decorations for residents at their local care home.
Even reindeer 'food' was made.
It was glitter galore as the youngsters pulled out all the stops to make the gifts, which will be presented by staff.
It was the furst event of its kind with class teacher, Suzanne Thompson, saying there was a full house for the activities sessions which were ran throughout Wednesday.
"They had lots of fun and the parents and grandparents really enjoyed it too," she said. "The children made two tree decorations so they can take one home and one will go to the care home."
Ms Thompson added: "It's nice to have that link with the home but it's also been nice to help get the parents in and make them feel welcome in school."
The nursery accepts children aged two to four. For more information call 01388-604168.
