RUNNERS will be chasing Satna's reindeer through a County Durham museum on Saturday in aid of charity.

Teesdale Athletic Club have once again organised their festive Reindeer Chase around The Bowes Museum, in Barnard Castle.

Held from 11.30am on Saturday, Decmber 15, runners will have the choice to take part in the 1km or 5km chase.

The club's couch to 5km programme graduates will also be taking part in the 5km event and all proceeds will be donated to the local charity The Clique.

Entry to the 1km race is £4 and £10 to the 5lm event.

Santa will release the 'reindeer' and once they have been given time to run away the chase will start.

Runners will set off in search for reindeer, collecting a number attached to any one of the reindeer before returning to the finish.

Numbers collected during the 5km event will be entered into a grand raffle draw with the chance to win one of many prizes.

Medals will also be awarded to all finishers.

  • Entry to the 5km race also entitles participants to free entry to the musuem and its Christmas fair which will be held on the same day.
  • Entry to the 1km also provides free entry to one supervising adult with the children who go free.
