ANYONE struggling with the stresses of Christmas can benefit from ‘community kindness’ events in County Durham this December.

Those looking to feel more connected this Christmas have the opportunity to do so, thanks to a number of agencies across County Durham who work together as the ‘community kindness collaborative’ to help improve mental health and wellbeing.

There will be a chance to have a hot drink and a mince pie, as well as access information and advice on a wide range of problems.

The events are taking place on Saturday December 15 at Millennium Place in Durham and Saturday December 22 at Spennymoor Leisure Centre.

The gathering will run from 10am until 4pm at Millennium Place and from 10am until 1pm at Spennymoor Leisure Centre.

Mike Brierley, a spokesperson for the community kindness collaborative, said: “These community kindness events will provide a great opportunity for people to have someone to talk to, who will listen to them and where needed offer ongoing access to help and guidance.

“Christmas is a busy and expensive time of the year which can unfortunately create a lot of stress. This is a brilliant opportunity to talk things through and get the best out of the festive period.
