SANTA and his loyal reindeer brought festive cheer to Stockton town centre as part of the Stockton Sparkles celebration on Sunday.

Father Christmas, his reindeer and elves took part in the annual reindeer parade, while hundreds of drummers and dancers took to the High Street.

Apollo Street Band, Rhythm Train, Christmas stilt walkers and roller skating characters were also there to spread festive joy.

The procession set off from Church Road, passing through the High Street and ended at the south side of the Shambles for a singalong.

Councillor Norma Wilburn, Stockton Borough Council’s cabinet member for arts, leisure and culture described Stockton Sparkles as “the highlight of our winter events calendar”.
