ROAD CLOSED SOME OF THE HOUSES SUFFERI NG FROM SUBSIDENCE.
THE eastbound carriageway of the A690 near Durham was closed for a period following a crash.
A police spokesman said a vehicle: "There has been an accident after the Gilesgate roundabout toward the A1.
"A vehicle has reportedly skidded on the road and hit the central reservation and ended up facing the wrong way and also hit a bin wagon.
"There no were injuries."
The road has now been reduced to one lane.
